Nativize Mortgage Rates

Zillow's app had no equivalent to web's trusted mortgage rates page, leaving app users without the same rate transparency that built confidence on desktop. I designed a condensed module that brought that trust-building content into a single space-constrained space in the Home Loans tab.

The Problem
Zillow.com had a high-performing mortgage rates page that built user trust, the app had no equivalent.
The Challenge
Web had already proven that transparent, easy-to-find rate info builds trust with buyers. The app's affordability space was missing that entirely, and the ask was to bring it over, but mobile doesn't have web's room to work with. The whole page had to become one module.
My Contribution
Audited the existing mortgage rates page to identify what was truly essential for a single, space-constrained mobile module, cutting everything that wasn't pulling its weight. Coordinated cross-functionally with legal, marketing, and content to align on what could and should be shown. Partnered with the separate team owning the Home Details Page (HDP), since the module would surface there too, both spaces needed to feel visually and functionally like one system, not two. Led rough early explorations, shared fast for team feedback given the project's scope, then finalized for dev handoff
The Solution
Condensed that same trust-building content into a single, space-constrained mobile module.
Shipped, with strong engagement — users clicked in and explored rates further.
